An Overdue Update

Holy moly I can’t believe my inactivity on my own website, it’s shameful! Anyways I figured an update was long overdue so here we go.

Honestly I was kind of waiting for more dramatic news before I posted a new update but I suppose there are few little things that I can fill you in on as we ever patiently wait for the day when I announce the EP’s confirmed release (or…at least as I wait ever patiently). For some reason I did not post the music video that was made for my song ‘Questions Without Answers’ back in June, on my website so here it is, just in case you missed it:

The music video was met with a good response and was encouraging to see that the emotional level I was going for was present when people told me they found it impactful. Which ultimately means I must be doing something right haha!

We’re looking at just two songs remaining before  everything gets its final mix and then the finishing touches are added through the process of mastering all the tracks in the album. It might be gutsy but it’s possible this EP could be released by Christmas time. I’m done with setting dates for release though. Clearly the completion of this project is up to the gods of music and whether or not I find favour with them in the coming weeks. Of course, when it does happen (which it will eventually), you all will be the first to know (pending if I can remember to update my website). On a more serious note though, this project has had many delays and setbacks but I’m confident that it will make the finished product that much better. I’ve learned a lot of patience on this project and a lot of gratitude. It’s certainly been an experience. To tell you the truth, I’m not the same person I was when I first went in the studio for this album almost two years ago. Perhaps I wasn’t ready to fully embrace this album as the person I was. Perhaps now I am truly ready to take on this challenge of promoting my music to the world with hopes that they will find enjoyment in it. And maybe just maybe, some higher force knew that all along.

Another Release! Hooray!

Remind Me

Hey guys, I’ve been super excited hearing your thoughts, comments and overall feedback on my last release: Love Machine! The response has been really positive and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. It’s been almost a month now since I released Love Machine and with the rest of the album nearing completion I figured it was time for one more release before the album is official released.

This next track I’m sharing with you guys is called ‘Remind Me’ and it’s not quite as fast paced as Love Machine is but regardless, the song is a good contrast with ‘Love Machine’ in terms of what you can expect from the EP. This track went a much different direction when we brought in all the instruments compared to what I thought it was going to sound like when I wrote it acoustically. Either way though I think it turned out pretty decently and I’m happy to be able to share this with you and bring this EP that much closer to completion. Feedback is always most welcome. Let me know what you guys think and have a great weekend!

The Time Has Come – Love Machine

Well it has been a slow moving process but a moving process nonetheless. Although I had hoped to have reached a further point by now, it is what it is and I have to simply go with it. That’s all you can really do. But despite all that, I wanted to showcase a tiny taste of the upcoming EP and release one of the tracks that I do have so far. The time for the EP release is on the horizon so with that in mind, it seems appropriate to start building up towards that.

I’m really excited to finally be able to share my most recent music with the world. Your honest feedback and comments are most welcome. This is essentially the tell-tale of whether or not I’ve got something worth pursuing seriously in regards to music or if it should just remain a hobby project. Your responses in the coming months will be the determining factor in all this. The track I’m sharing with you guys here is one of my more up-beat songs and is a good reflection of what to expect in terms of sound and style for the rest of the album. They say to start with your best foot forward and hopefully I’m making the right call with releasing this as my first track.

Anyways you can find links to my song entitled “Love Machine” below. For more information about the song such as lyrics and the story behind it, you can hit up my music page on the website here. Of course if you like the track, sharing is always appreciated and is a fantastic way to show your support.

I’m going to say this now and probably a hundred times more before this thing is done but a huge thanks to Andrew and Zachari Smith who are responsible for bringing my music to life. I could not have done it without their support and encouragement. It is imperative that people recognize the role they have played in this EP. So Andrew and Zachari, thank you. Let me take this time to also remind you of their recently released album “Stumbling Horse.” I really encourage you guys to check it out over at www.andrewandzacharismith.com.

Alright, enough chit-chat. Here is the teaser track for the upcoming EP. Enjoy!
